The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has
announced the Division II men's and women's basketball awards for the 2008-09 season
with four Huntington University Foresters among the list of
honorees.
Senior Lauren Davenport (Andrews, IN, Huntington North High School)
was a Third Team NAIA All-America selection. The point guard was
the Runner-up Player of the Year in the Mid-Central Conference and
finished her career with 1023 points to become the 17th member of
Huntington’s 1000-point club.
Davenport, who was equally adept in the classroom, joined junior
Brittney Bateman (Lagrange, IN, Lakeland High School), junior Kevin
Kyle (Crawfordsville, IN, North Montgomery High School) and senior
Geoff Scheetz (Plymouth, IN, Plymouth High School) on the list of
All-America Scholar-Athlete honorees. Recipients of the award must
have at least a junior academic standing and carry a minimum
cumulative grade point average of 3.5. |
