10.2.04 - The buzz of a large Homecoming crowd gave the Foresters the edge they needed to pick up their first conference win of the season, a 1-0 decision over Taylor University. The evenly played match saw both teams generate many quality opportunities with both keepers making saves to keep the match scoreless.  HC finally broke through with the game-winner with 15 minutes to play when Luke Caldwell recovered a loose ball at the top of Taylor's 18 and sent a bending strike into the back of the net.  "Our spirit was great, which enabled us to possess more," said Coach Lawson.  "I am pleased with the effort and execution.  Whenever you send a big crowd home with a victory, it is a special day."  The win evens the men's record at 5-5 and gives them a 1-2 record in conference play.
