9-16-04 - Although two starters were out of the lineup, HC's offense came up with more than enough firepower to put away the Manchester College Spartans 5-2.  The Foresters struck first when Joel Sanders netted a goal off a pass from Luke Caldwell two minutes into the game, and 13 minutes later,  Seth Caldwell set up Andrew Hulfish for HC's second goal.  The momentum took a turn when the Spartans found the back of the net with a little over a minute left before halftime.  In the second half, HC again got things rolling when Joel Sanders assisted Luke Caldwell four minutes into the half to give the Foresters a 3-1 lead.  Manchester answered back five minutes later to again pull within one.  Midway through the half in what could have been the turning point of the match, HC keeper, Courtney Hamilton, had to leave the match with an injury.  The Spartans sensed an opportunity and went on the attack, but back-up keeper Jarrod Bennett came in and immediately solidified the defense. "At the time of Courtney's injury, Manchester was pressing us well, but Jarrod's calmness and acrobatic save midway through the half was a momentum killer," said Coach Lawson.  Bennett's save ignited the Foresters and directly led to their fourth goal as Seth Caldwell put the ball and the game away.  Sanders completed the scoring with his second goal of the game with five minutes left in the game.  "Our guys rose to the occasion once again, and it was their determination that was the difference in this match."  With the win, the Foresters improve to 4-3 on the season.
