| 9-29-04 - A
lack of intensity gave Spring Arbor University the edge it needed to hand the
Foresters a 2-1 loss, their fourth one-goal loss of the season. The
first half was all Spring Arbor. HC's half-hearted tackling
allowed the Cougars to possess the ball much of the opening 45 minutes, but
fortunately it led to just one SAU goal by the break. The Foresters
picked up the intensity in the second half and evened out the play.
Spring Arbor scored what would be the game-winner 17 minutes into the half on
a long throw-in that found a Cougar wide open for a tap in. HC finally
got on the board with 6:49 left on the clock on a David Callahan score, but
couldn't come up with the equalizer before time expired. "As a
team, our intensity was poor," said Coach Lawson. "We gave
Spring Arbor little spirit, and they had an easy time of it out there."
The loss drops the Foresters to 4-5 on the season and 0-2 in the MCC. |
