03.18.05 - Huntington North High School senior Michael Darnell has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Huntington College this fall. He joins four others in Coach Russ  Lawson's 2005 recruiting class.  During his senior year with the Vikings, Darnell's versatility was put to the test with the various roles he performed.  He saw time in all three thirds of the field with his natural role being defender.

“I am looking forward to working with Michael because he is the type of athlete that gives you his all," said Coach Lawson.  "He brings an intensity and work ethic that will serve him well as he looks to improve his game. Public Relations will be Michael’s focus off the field here at HC, and judging from the effort he puts forth on the field, he should have a successful collegiate experience as a Forester."

Michael is the son of Steve and Debbie Darnell from Huntington, Indiana.
