Lawson has announced that Chavis Williams, a transfer from University
of Mobile will be joining the Foresters this fall. A native of Santa
Cruz, Trinidad, Williams is a central defender who has played at an
elite level. In his homeland, he developed his skills with Santa Rosa
Football Club and the St. Clair Youth Academy. Along with
winning numerous league championships, Williams also was received the
2001 Coaches' Player of the Year award for his club. As a
freshman at the University of Mobile this past year, Williams
contributed to the Rams' program that went 12-6-1 on the season and
finished the year ranked 15th in the nation in the NAIA.
“Whenever you can bring in a high caliber
recruit with Chavis’ pedigree, one can’t help but get excited,” says
Lawson. “I look for him to bring immediate stability to our backline
with his speed and experience.”
Williams, the son of
Lennox and Penelope Williams from Santa Cruz, Trinidad, will look to
continue his academic pursuit of a business degree. |
