04.07.05 - Huntington College Men’s Soccer Coach Russ Lawson has announced that Chavis Williams, a transfer from University of Mobile will be joining the Foresters this fall. A native of Santa Cruz, Trinidad, Williams is a central defender who has played at an elite level. In his homeland, he developed his skills with Santa Rosa Football Club and the St. Clair Youth Academy.  Along with winning numerous league championships, Williams also was received the 2001 Coaches' Player of the Year award for his club.  As a freshman at the University of Mobile this past year, Williams contributed to the Rams' program that went 12-6-1 on the season and finished the year ranked 15th in the nation in the NAIA.

“Whenever you can bring in a high caliber recruit with Chavis’ pedigree, one can’t help but get excited,” says Lawson. “I look for him to bring immediate stability to our backline with his speed and experience.”

Williams, the son of Lennox and Penelope Williams from Santa Cruz, Trinidad, will look to continue his academic pursuit of a business degree.
