| 10.18.05 - With
one final game to play in the regular season, the Foresters are
gaining some momentum down the stretch with their second consecutive
win, a 4-1 victory over Moody Bible Institute. HU took the early
lead in the 12th minute of play when Matt Gerlach sent a pass from the
back line into the box and Andrew Wust slipped it past the Archer's keeper
for the only score of the half.
The Foresters immediately went to work in the second half and added
two more goals in the first 13 minutes of play. Andrew Hulfish
slotted home a pass from Wust seven minutes into the half and six
minutes later, David Callahan found Seth Caldwell in the box who
placed a low shot in the left corner to put HU up 3-0. Moody got one back in the 64th minute, but Caldwell re-established
the three goal advantage with 12 minutes to play when Tyler Welker hit him in stride just
inside the box. Caldwell drove the ball to the far post to put
the game out of reach.
"I was very encouraged by the effort
and execution put forth by the guys," said Lawson. "This was
without a doubt our best performance to date with regards to composure
on the ball and the ability to finish our opportunities."
With the win, the Foresters improve to 4-12 on the season. |
