| 10.01.05 - The
sizable Homecoming crowd wanted a victory and the Foresters did not
disappoint as they ended their six-game losing skid with a 5-1 win
over Rochester College. HU got on
the board first when Joel Sanders sent a beautiful cross in the box
and Ben Haifley finished it 13 minutes into the match. With
11:23 left in the first half, Marc Anthony William set up Andrew Wust
to push the Foresters' lead to 2-0, which is where it remained at the
half.
The Warriors immediately got back in
the game with a goal in the 48th minute, but the Foresters re-grouped
and again gained possession of the ball. HU scored three
unanswered goals over the final twenty minutes to put Rochester away.
William hooked up with Seth Caldwell for the Foresters' third goal,
David Callahan added an unassisted score and Sanders completed the
scoring with a goal off a free kick with just under two minutes to
play.
"The guys played with tremendous heart
and they were totally deserving of this result," said Coach Lawson.
"We have put two games together where we have possessed and shown
continuous improvement for the full 90 minutes."
The Foresters improve to 2-9 on the year. |
