| 10.04.05 - For
their third consecutive MCC match, the Foresters failed to score a
goal with Taylor University blanking HU 4-0 this time. The
Foresters came with a strong possession game to begin the match, but a
breakdown in marking in the box gave the Trojans the 1-0 lead at the
22 minute mark. Both teams generated quality scoring
opportunities over the final 23 minutes of the half, but neither team
could add to the score. Seventeen
minutes into the second period, a questionable no-call on goalie
interference allowed Taylor a tap in to give the Trojans a 2-0
advantage. Down two goals, HU was forced to turn up the
pressure, but then got caught on a breakaway making it 3-0. With
just under five minutes to play, Taylor added its fourth goal to put
the Foresters away.
"We had multiple shots inside the 12
and to come away empty is disheartening," said Coach Lawson.
"Taylor is the 5th-ranked team in the region and we had our chances,
but failed to capitalize."
With the loss, the Foresters fall to 2-10 on the year and 0-4 in
conference play. |
