With the sun shining and the temperatures just perfect for soccer, over 150  players on 16 teams gathered for the 6^th Annual Huntington 7v7 Men’s Soccer Tournament.  Among those participating were three teams of past and present Forester players which combined to produce a 2-5-2 record on the day.  “I was encouraged by the great talent that was on display,” stated HU’s men’s soccer coach Russ Lawson. “The ability to run a quality tournament such as this is a nice feather in the cap for our program.  I envision this day only getting bigger as we continue to build on this tournament’s reputation.” 

It was an action-packed day of soccer.  The round robin pool play produced many classic battles with Mount Vernon Nazarene (2 teams), Tri-State, and Taylor eventually advancing to the playoffs.  Tri-State clashed with MVNU (2) in one semifinal game earning a berth into the finals with a 6-4  win. Joining Tri-State in the final was Taylor who was able to push past MVNU (1) by a score of 4-2. The finals saw Taylor claim the title with a 4-3 win over Tri-State.
