09.10.05 - Former Forester coach Steve DeCou returned to Huntington for the first time since taking over the Trinity Christian College program and led his Trolls to a 2-0 shutout over the Foresters.

The first half was evenly played as both teams generated numerous scoring opportunities. The difference was a poorly cleared ball by HU in the 30th minute that Trinity Christian was able to put away to take the 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the Foresters were sluggish with their pressure and the Trolls took advantage with their second goal in the 68th minute.  The score seemed to light a fire under HU.   They returned to their possession game and came up with a handful of scoring chances.  With 4:30 remaining, the Foresters had an opportunity to get back in the match with a penalty kick, but failed to capitalize.

"Our first half was extremely positive, some of the best combinations we have seen all year," said Coach Lawson.  "We continue to show improvement, but we need to learn to play with composure and confidence for the entire 90 minutes."

The loss drops the men to 1-4 on the year.
