09.17.05 - After owning a 1-0 lead for more than half of the match, the Foresters failed to put away Asbury College, allowing the Eagles the 3-2 come-from-behind win.

The afternoon started out on a great note for HU as Marc Anthony William scored on a rocket from 30 yards out five minutes into the contest.  The Foresters continued to control the midfield and kept Asbury on its heels for the remainder of the half, but they couldn't add to their advantage.

A defensive miscue in the box allowed the Eagles to draw even 10 minutes into the second half.  Asbury kept up the pressure and eventually broke down Huntington's defense by slotting a pass into the box that forced the HU defender to take down the Eagle forward.  Asbury's Ben Andrews connected on the penalty kick to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead in the 70th minute.  HU immediately went on the attack as they searched for the equalizer.  Their efforts were rewarded when freshman striker, Ben Haifley, soared above the defense to head the ball into net off a brilliant cross from Joel Sanders.  In the 82nd minute, Matt DeLong spoiled HU's comeback efforts as soft defensive pressure allowed him to put the game-winner past keeper Pete Datema.

"I was pleased with the effort the guys put forth, especially coming off a poor showing on Thursday," said Coach Lawson.  "There was progress made, and despite the result, we can be happy with the way we possessed and finished."

With the loss, the men fall to 1-6 on the year.
