05.15.06 - Huntington University Men’s Soccer Coach Russ Lawson has announced that Bethesda Christian High School standout Caleb Archer has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at HU this fall. As a sweeper for the Patriots, Archer not only anchored the team’s defense the past two seasons, he also played a vital role in their offense. During his final two seasons at Bethesda Christian, Archer tallied 20 goals and added 20 assists.

“We are very excited that Caleb will continue his career at Huntington,” says Lawson. “He is a hard nosed defender who reads the game well and has the ability to distribute and generate offense.”

Off the field, Archer has been equally adept in the classroom.  For his efforts he was awarded the United States Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete Award for academic and athletic excellence. Archer was one of just three individuals in the Indianapolis area and surrounding communities to receive this prestigious honor from the United States Army Reserves.

Caleb is the son of Robert and Lori from Brownsburg, IN.
