10.24.06 - In their final match of the season, the Foresters (6-10-2) put together a solid team effort to defeat Moody Bible Institute 4-2.

Joel Sanders put HU up 1-0 in the 13th minute when Marc William hit him on the run in the box and he powered a shot past the Archer's keeper.  Eight minutes later, Sanders then served the ball to senior captain, Seth Caldwell, who sent it home to put HU up 2-0.

Moody then went to work and scored two unanswered goals of their own in the final 18 minutes of the half to knot it at 2-2 before intermission.

In the second half, the Foresters established possession early and kept the heat on Moody with multiple scoring opportunities.  Andrew Wust capitalized on a rebound as he crashed the box to give HU the lead for good.  Harrison Tash finished the scoring with an excellent individual effort.  He beat three defenders before ripping a shot past Moody's keeper.

"This was a great way to end the year for the team and especially for our senior captains, Matt Gerlach and Seth Caldwell," said Coach Lawson.  "We possessed the ball well which allowed us to generate quality scoring chances, and we did it with the entire roster."

The Foresters out-shot Moody 19-8.  HU keepers Kevin Keske (3) and Matt Boyer (2) recorded five saves.
