| 09.02.06 - Playing
before the home crowd for the first time this season, Huntington (2-1)
knocked off the Franklin College Grizzlies 3-1. The Foresters
maintained possession on the ball and used their speed on the flanks
to earn the victory.
Joel Sanders got HU on the board first
by scoring on a penalty kick 25 minutes into the game. The
Grizzlies evened up the match five minutes into the second half, but
Sanders again put the Foresters ahead with his second score midway
through the period. Andrew Wust put it out of Franklin's reach
with HU's third goal off an assist from James Holliday with just two
minutes remaining.
"This is a solid result today," said
Coach Lawson. "Our composure improved as the game progressed, we
generated 18 shots on goal, and we were able to beat Franklin -
something we have failed to do the past two years. |
