University Men’s Soccer Coach Russ Lawson is pleased to introduce
Jason Metzger, a local product from Huntington North High School, as
the latest addition to the 2007 recruiting class.
“Jason is a gifted
athlete who has the ability to put his imprint on the game each and
every time he steps on the field,” said Coach Lawson. “He is a
disciplined player who has the versatility to play in the midfield
or anchor the backline.”
As
a senior for the Vikings, Metzger earned a spot on the North Central
Conference First Team with three goals and seven assists. He also
captained Huntington North to one of its finest seasons in school
history with runner-up finishes in the NCC and the Sectional.
As
a student, Metzger will pursue a degree in education when he enters
classes this fall as a Huntington University Academic Honor Award
and Youth for Christ Leadership Award recipient.
