05.16.07 - Huntington University soccer coach Russ Lawson announced that Elkhart Christian Academy standout Stephen Wood has decided to continue his collegiate career as a Forester. Wood has had great success at the high school level scoring 37 goals and amassing 80 points as a target striker.  During his senior year, Wood captained the team to a share of the NAC conference title while earning a spot on the All-Conference First team.

“Stephen is an excellent three sport athlete who will bring an exciting blend of speed, tenacity, and physical toughness to campus this fall,” said Lawson. “He has the knack for putting himself in the right spot at the right time.  When you combine that with his intensity and grit, we know we are receiving a player who has the potential to fight through adversity and make a great impact as a student-athlete here at HU.”

Stephen is the son of Cynthia Wood from Mishawaka, Indiana and younger brother of HU soccer alum Josh Wood (2005).
