| 09.25.07 - After
battling to a scoreless tie at intermission, the NAIA 9th-ranked
Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats netted three goals in the second half and
shut out the Foresters 3-0.
HU's defense
came up big in the
first half, keeping IWU from generating many scoring opportunities,
but the Wildcats finally found the back of the net in the 58th minute
to break the scoreless tie. The Wildcats then added another 11
minutes later and put the game out of reach with a third goal in the
79th minute.
HU keeper, Kevin
Keske, had an outstanding effort in goal with six saves in the game.
"The guys put forth
a great effort," said Coach Lawson. "We defended well and had our
moments where we played with them. In the end we didn't generate
enough possession to keep us out of our own end which we must get
better at to make that push in the MCC."
The loss drops the
Foresters to 5-4 on the season and 0-2 in the MCC. |
