- Manchester High School’s Josh Watson has signed a letter of
intent to play soccer at Huntington University this fall. Watson
anchored the midfield during both his junior and senior campaigns
and will graduate holding the career record for assists with 48. In
his final campaign, Watson found the back of the net 13 times and he
will graduate as a two-time Squire Award winner which recognizes
academic and athletic excellence.
Coach Lawson notes
“Josh will bring an intense will to compete. We have flexibility
with Josh because of his additional experience on the back line with
his club team Citadel FC. I expect him to push our outside backs
once he transitions to the demands of collegiate soccer.”
Josh, and entering HU honor student, is the son of Kevin and Janean
from Manchester, Indiana.
Huntington University is a Christian liberal arts college
located in Huntington, IN, with an enrollment of approximately 1100
students. Athletically, HU is a member of the Mid-Central
Conference (MCC) and competes in fourteen NAIA intercollegiate
sports for both men and women. |
