09.09.08 - The Foresters and Manchester College battled on the soccer field for 110 minutes and the end result was a scoreless tie.

The match was evenly played throughout regulation and the two overtime periods with HU putting 17 shots on goal to 15 for the Spartans.  Manchester had eight corner kicks to five for the Foresters. HU keeper Kevin Keske recorded seven saves and the Spartans' Matt Mullen had four.

"Solid team shape and organization enabled us to get our first shut out of the year," said Coach Lawson. "Our attack was dangerous tonight as we improved our tempo and spacing in the final third. I'm confident as we continue to gain experience, our timing will allow us to finish at a higher rate. It was a hard fought battle and I'm pleased to get a result considering they have had our number the past two seasons.

The tie gives HU an overall record of 1-2-1 on the season.
