10.14.09 - In a tale of two halves the Foresters took a 3-1 lead at halftime only to be handed a 6-3 loss by the Cougars of Spring Arbor University.

HU didn't waste much time scoring its first goal of the game at the 13:39 mark when Brad Kunze found the back of the net from a Dustin Shafer assist.  Spring Arbor standout Marcel Preis countered with his first goal of the day in the 25th minute to knot the score 1-1.  The Foresters didn't seem rattled by the Cougar goal as Steven Roberts put HU up 2-1 less than a minute later off an assist from George Halim. Just before halftime Steven McKay joined the offense fire power by scoring a goal to put the Foresters up 3-1 at halftime.

The second half turned into the Marcel Preis show as he scored four of the Cougar's five second half goals. His four-goal scoring rampage took place over a thirteen minute span, two of the scores coming from penalty kicks. The Cougars final goal came at the 87:37 mark from a third penalty kick.

Spring Arbor outshot the Foresters 24-18.  HU Keeper Kevin Keske recorded nine saves.

With this loss, the Foresters drop to 8-7, 0-6 in conference play.  HU will host Saint Francis on Saturday.  The seniors will be recognized at 1:45 p.m. with kick off slated for 2:00 p.m.
