10.16.09 - Keeping playoff hopes alive, the Foresters took an early lead 2-0 within the first six minutes of play to  dominate Saint Francis and secure the 4-0 win on senior day.

HU's first score came in the third minute of play when George Halim slipped one past the goalie made possible by some clever passing through the midfield by Taylor Zeman and Brad Kunze. Just minutes later the Foresters went up 2-0 on an own goal by Saint Francis.

The first half scoring ended at the 38:13 mark when Kurt Sanders passed it up the flank to Derek Ressler who headed the ball to Isaac Beal.  Beal was able to bring it down and drill it past the goalie to make it 3-0 at halftime.

Both teams were scoreless through much of the second half until James Holliday, off a pass from Steven Roberts, sailed one to the far post at the 76:38 mark for the Forester's final goal of the day.  HU finished with nine shots to Saint Francis' 12.  Forester Keeper Kevin Keske finished with six saves.

"The boys earned this one today.  From the first whistle they played attacking, composed soccer and our defense was locked in," commented Coach Lawson.  "I am proud of the way this team bounced back and proved that they are a team that still has plenty of quality soccer left in them."

The Foresters will travel to Marian on Tuesday.  A win against Marian would likely secure HU a spot in the MCC tourney slated to begin next weekend.  With this win, the Foresters are 9-7, 1-6 in conference play.
