10.22.09 - In a game that every Forester saw action, HU wrapped up their season with a 4-3 victory over Moody Bible Institute.

In a well-executed play eight minutes into the game George Halim found the back of the net off a corner kick from Taylor Zeman.  Minutes later at the 12:26 mark Adam McLaughlin brought the ball up the sideline and hit James Holliday running through the box who slid it past the goalie for HU's second goal of the day.  Less than a minute later Halim struck again off a nice combo play by Zeman and Steven Roberts giving the Foresters a commanding 3-0 lead.

However nobody told Moody it was time to throw in the towel.  They battled back scoring a goal in the first half and then followed that up with two more goals in the second half to knot the score 3-3 with 20 minutes remaining. Both teams showed a lot of grit and determination but it was the Foresters who finally capitalized on a scoring opportunity.  With less than three minutes left in the game, Kurt Sanders served a ball in to Steven Roberts who on his second touch scored the game-winner after it redirected off a Moody defender.  HU Keepers Kevin Keske and Chris fox finished with six and three saves respectively.  The Foresters recorded 17 shots to Moody's 20.

"I am proud of the boys for coming out and finishing the season on a positive note. Everyone contributed to this result and that is a testament to the quality and character we have in this program," commented Coach Lawson.  "The game went back and forth. Moody is tenacious and take after their coach, Joe Harding."

The Foresters finish their season 10-8, 1-7 in conference play.
