08.25.09 - It took the Huntington University men’s soccer team less than four minutes to score their first goal of the 2009 season against Indiana Institute of Technology.  The Foresters went on to claim a 2-1 victory.

Sophomore Steven Roberts found the back of the net off a beautiful penetrating pass from Taylor Zeman to give the Foresters the early lead.  HU had a little help from a Warrior center back for its second score of the half.  At the 34:15 mark the Warrior defense felt pressure from a charging Brad Kunze but instead of clearing the ball on a header, the ball skimmed off the defender’s head past the outstretched arms of his goalie for HU’s second goal of the half.

Indiana Tech closed the gap by scoring a goal in the second half.  The Forester’s stifling defense limited Indiana Tech to just three shots on goal. With this win, the Foresters open the season 1-0.
