09.15.09 - The
Foresters only needed thirty minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead
over Manchester that proved to be the final outcome of the contest.
HU's first goal came off a combination play that sent George Halim
in for a score off an assist from Steven McKay at the 4:00 mark.
Eleven minutes later Abe Janson rose above everyone off a lofted
corner kick by Taylor Zeman for a header that found the upper left corner
of the goal.
HU's final score came off a scramble in the box that resulted in
Halim's second goal of the game, his fourth in the last two games.
The Foresters outshot the Spartans 13-8 with HU keeper Kevin Keske
recording three saves on the day.
"I was extremely pleased with our first half effort today," Coach
Lawson said. "We got a little lackadaisical in the second
half. We're happy with the win but we need to do a better job
playing the full 90 minutes."
HU is now 6-1 on the season. The Foresters will play at home this
weekend playing Holy Cross on Friday night and Calumet College of
Saint Joseph on Saturday. |
