- Spring Arbor University made the most of its opportunities to earn
the 7-2 victory over the Foresters. Two doubles matches came
down to the wire, but the Cougars pulled off the wins 8-6 at #1 and
9-7 at #2, and in singles play HU's Brian Lambright had the momentum
heading into a third set, but lost the final set after spraining his
ankle.
Adam Widener was a
double winner for the Foresters as he easily defeated the Cougar's
Wade Clark, 6-0, 6-0 at #6 singles, then teamed with Mitchell McDonald
to take an 8-5 decision at #3 doubles.
“Although the score
seems lopsided, we had a chance in three matches that could have gone
either way,” said Coach Turner.
With the loss the Foresters
fall to 0-2 on the
season and 0-1 in the MCC. |
