- In the Foresters' season opener, a talented Olivet Nazarene University
squad knocked off HU 6-3. The Tigers immediately took charge of
the match by sweeping the doubles. HU picked up its three wins in
singles with Tyler Moore winning 6-2, 7-5 at #1, Gonzalo Vivas earning an exciting three-set
victory 6-1, 5-7, 6-1 at #2 and Mitchell McDonald getting the
come-from-behind win 6-7, 6-0, 6-2 at #3.
"We had first match
jitters, especially in doubles as we started out slowly and could not
recover," said Coach Turner. "I was especially pleased with our top
three players. Olivet has always been a very strong team and we
played well." |
