The men’s tennis team will have a different look as they open the 2008 season having graduated two of its top three players from last year’s squad that went 9-8 on the year.   Junior Gonzalo Vivas should move into the top spot for the Foresters this season with the departure of four-year starter, Tyler Moore.  Vivas went 16-4 at number two singles last season and was an MCC All-Conference selection.

Four freshmen were added to the roster are expected to make an early impact.  Dennis Vivas, (Lima, Peru) Gonzalo’s brother, Paul Hageman (Grand Rapids, MI) and brothers Jonathan and Jameel Brenneman (St. Mary’s, OH) should all vie for the number two position.

Rounding out the roster are a pair of sophomores; Keaton McDonald and Jeff Hart and junior; Matt Cable.  They will be adding depth to the lineup.

“Even though we lost Tyler and Mitchell, we should be a little stronger this year because of our depth,” said Coach Turner.  “The biggest question will be our maturity on the court since we are so young.”
