10.10.09 - Looking to defend their 2008 doubles' title, Gonzalo and Martin Vivas put together a fantastic MCC tournament performance to repeat as the 2009 MCC Men's #1 Doubles Tennis Champions.  The pair entered the tournament as the sixth seed and made their way to the championship match where they defeated fourth seed Indiana Wesleyan 8-5 to win the title.

As a team, the Foresters finished in sixth place for the tournament. Indiana Wesleyan won the men's title with 16 points while Taylor finished in a close second with 15 points.  For complete results, see MCC Men's Tennis Tournament.

In the semifinals, the Vivas brothers knocked off the two seed from Grace 8-4.  In other semifinal action, at #2 doubles the Brenneman brothers lost to the two seeded Marian duo 8-5.  Jon Brenneman was downed by top-seeded Indiana Wesleyan at #4 singles 6-1, 6-1.

Gonzalo Vivas earned MCC All-Conference honors for the third time in his career.
