10.02.09 - Hoping to capture two wins over the chilly Homecoming weekend, the Foresters fell short to Spring Arbor 6-3 but were dominating Davenport 6-0 before play ended due to rainy weather conditions.

On Friday afternoon, the Foresters hosted Spring Arbor but could only muster three wins on the day.  Gonzalo Vivas held off his opponent for the 7-5, 6-3 win at #1 singles.  Jon Brenneman was the only other singles winner on the day with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at #4. In other singles play, Martin Vivas (#2) fell 6-1, 6-0. Jameel Brenneman (#3) lost 6-3, 6-3.  Paul Hageman (#5) and Keaton McDonald (#6) lost 6-3, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0 respectively.

The Brenneman brothers recorded the lone doubles win (8-6) at #2.  The Vivas brothers (#1) and Hageman/McDonald combo (#3) fell 8-5 and 8-2 respectively.

Saturday was a different story.  The Foresters got things rolling by sweeping the doubles action.  The Vivas brothers (#1) and the Brenneman brothers (#2) won 8-4 and 8-1 respectively.  McDonald and Jeff Hart also got the 8-4 convincing win at #3.

Things continued to go well for HU in singles play until the match was called because of rain.  Gonzalo Vivas won at #1 6-3, 6-3 and Jameel Brenneman (#3) and Jon Brenneman (#4) quickly disposed of their opponents 6-0, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-1 respectively.
