By the time it was over, Taylor had rallied from a 9-7 deficit with 10
runs in the bottom of the sixth to bring an abrupt end to the game.
A dejected Forester squad was then shut out 4-0 in the second game.
In the opener, HC built early leads of 5-2 and 6-3 and looked to be in
control of the game when three runs in the top of the fifth made it
9-5, but Taylor was just getting started. The Trojans chipped
away with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and forced Kendra Stahl
from the game early in the sixth. Unfortunately for HC,
relievers Renae Schortgen and Emily Burkholder couldn't slow the
Trojans either. Stahl did a lot to help herself at the plate
with two hits including her first homerun of the season and four RBI.
Adrienne Bender and Kala Parthemore each added two hits and two RBI in
the game. In the second contest,
HC was shut out on six hits. Schortgen, who went the distance in the
loss for the Foresters, led the team with three of their six hits.
Bender added two singles. The two losses complete the Foresters'
regular season conference schedule with a 2-14 record and give them a
6-25 record overall. |
