05.04.05 - Costly errors that led to big innings for their opponents brought the Foresters' season to an end as they fell 9-4 to Indiana Wesleyan and 14-10 to Taylor in the MCC Tournament.

In first round action, HC jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first, but an error in the third inning extended Indiana Wesleyan's at-bat and allowed them to score five runs to reclaim the lead.  The Foresters drew back within one with two runs in the top of the fifth, but two miscues in the bottom of the sixth led to three Wildcats runs which put the game out of reach for HC.  Kendra Stahl had a team-high two hits in the game and one RBI.  Kaley Fode added a double and two RBI.  Liz Rapone went the distance in the loss for the Foresters.

The Foresters then met Taylor in their second game.  HC again took the lead with a run in the first, but it was short-lived.  The Trojans took advantage of two Forester errors to plate three in their first at-bat.  Two more HC errors in the second allowed Taylor to add four more runs and take control of the game.  In the third, the Trojans pushed their lead to 9-1 with a string of three doubles, but the Foresters fought back.  HC combined a single and two doubles with three walks and a Taylor error to get six of the runs back and pull within 9-7.  HC held the Trojans in the bottom of the fourth, but Taylor exploded for five runs in the fifth on four hits and another Forester error.  HC had one more rally attempt left in them.  They pieced together five singles to push three runs across, but the rally ended there.  April Snider and Renae Schortgen each had three hits, including a double by both, and two RBI to lead the Foresters.  Schortgen, who came on in relief of Stahl in the fourth, was the pitcher of record in the loss.

The Foresters conclude their season with a 7-27 record.
