05.26.05 - Huntington College announced that Eastside High School standout, Lauren Ward, has signed a letter of intent to play softball for the Forester program next year.  Ward, one of the top pitchers in the state, has amassed over 1400 strikeouts in her career and only allowed 32 earned runs in almost 796 innings pitched.  To date, she has a career record of 102-15 and has pitched 25 no-hitters in her career.  She is a two-time First Team All-State honoree as a sophomore and junior and was named to the Third Team as a freshman.  She also has been an All-NECC selection each year.

Huntington College softball coach, Doug Gower, is looking forward to Ward’s contributions on the field.  “Lauren has had an outstanding high school career,” stated Gower.  “She is a very competitive player who has the ability to dominate the game from the mound.  Our program just got a lot better with Lauren’s addition.  We expect her to have a very successful career here at Huntington.”
