03.29.07 - The Foresters (6-7) went 1-1 against the Warriors of Indiana Tech winning game one 2-1 and dropping game two 6-2.

In the opener, Indiana Tech pushed one across first in the bottom of the third, but HU’s Kendra Stahl evened things up in the top of the fourth with her first homerun of the season.  The score remained tied until the Foresters got the eventual game-winner in top of the eighth.  Ashley McCann belted a one-out triple to left and then scored on a successful squeeze bunt by Brittany Gower.  Although the Warriors got someone on in their half of the eighth, HU hurler, Lauren Ward was able to squelch the rally attempt.

Ward struck out 11 batters on her way to her fourth victory of the season.  In eight innings she allowed just one run on six hits and three walks.  Stahl was the lone Forester with two hits in the game.

In the second game, Indiana Tech jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings.  HU got one back in the third, but the Warriors put the game out of reach with another run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.  The Foresters scored one more in the seventh but they could get no closer.

Ashley Scally went the distance in the loss for HU.  She gave up six runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out two.  Stacy Socha had two hits and drove in one to lead the Foresters at the plate.
