03.31.07 - The Tri-State University Thunder struck down early Forester leads in both games to earn the 7-3, 14-6 sweep.  A closer look at the box scores shows that one bad inning in both games is what lead to HU's demise.

In game one, the Foresters (6-9) scored a run in their first at-bat and the 1-0 lead held until Tri-State plated five with two out in the bottom of the third.  HU committed three errors in the inning and the Thunder took advantage.  The two teams traded two more runs over the next two innings to reach the final 7-3 margin.

Lauren Ward went the distance in the loss for HU.  She game up seven runs, but just two were earned, on seven hits and two walks.  She struck out five.  Brittney Bateman had a double and scored a run to for the Foresters.

In game two, HU owned a 6-2 lead after three at-bats, but again the third inning proved disastrous for the Foresters.  Seven hits and one error later, the Thunder had put eight runs on the board to take a 10-6 lead.  Tri-State added four more over the final three innings to put the game away.

Ashley Scally took the loss for HU.  She gave up 10 runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out four in two and a third innings of work.  Ward had two hits including a double and three RBI to lead the Foresters at the plate.
