04.16.07 - The Foresters split a doubleheader with Goshen College winning game one 7-2 on Saturday and then losing game two 9-6 on Monday.

In the first game, HU scored once in their first at-bat and then the Maple Leafs took a brief 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth.  The Foresters rallied with six runs on the bottom of the inning and effectively put the game out of reach.  After a scoreless fifth inning, Goshen had runners on first and third with one out in the top of the sixth when the game was called due to poor weather conditions.

Lauren Ward moved to 7-4 on the season with the win.  She threw five and a third innings and gave up two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out 10.  Ashley Scally led HU's attack with two hits and two RBI.

In Monday's game, things didn't go as well for the Foresters.  Goshen jumped in front with four runs in the top of the first.  HU plated three in the second to get back in the game.  The two teams traded a run in the third and then the Maple Leafs put the game out of reach with four more in the fourth.  The Foresters cut it to three with two runs in their half of the frame, but the scoring ended there.

Ward went four innings in the loss.  She gave up nine runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out two.  Stacy Socha was 2-3 at the plate with two RBI for HU.
