04.24.07 - Marian College used strong pitching performances in both games of the MCC doubleheader to knock off the Foresters 6-1 and 3-1.

Marian grabbed an early 5-0 lead after three innings in game one.  The Foresters (13-18, 6-8) scored an unearned run in the fourth, but with just five hits in the game, they couldn't get back in the game.  Ashley Scally went five innings in the loss and gave up six runs on nine hits and two walks, while striking out one.  Stacy Socha had two of HU's hits in the game.

In game two, the Foresters got on the scoreboard first with a run in the second.  Brittney Bateman reached on a two-base error, stole third and then scored on an error by the pitcher.  Marian tied it in their half of the second and then added another run on the third and fourth to put the game out of reach.  Sandy Corum, the Knight's pitcher, held HU to two hits in the game. Lauren Ward went the distance in the loss.  She gave up three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five.
