03.26.08 - It was HU's home opener and the Foresters earned a split with the visiting Tri-State University Thunder winning game one 2-1 and falling in game two 11-0.

In the opener, HU struck first when Ashley McCann doubled in Brittney Bateman in the bottom of the first. The Foresters made it 2-0 in the third this time with Laura Baas doubling in Bateman.  The Thunder got one back in the fifth on a wild pitch, but could mount anything further.

HU's Lauren Ward moved to 2-2 on the season with the complete-game win.  She gave up one run on five hits and one walk while striking out five.  Kendra Stahl, Baas and McCann each contributed two hits in the contest to lead the Foresters' offense.

In the nightcap, Tri-State out-hit HU 13-1 in the 11-0 shutout.  Keri Badenhop recorded the lone Forester single in the second inning.  Ashley Scally went the distance for HU in the loss.  She allowed 11 runs on 13 hits and a walk while striking out two.
