- The Foresters (4-10-1, 2-4) dropped a doubleheader to Marian College
losing 3-1 in ten innings and 6-3.
In the opener, the Knights pushed one across first in the top of the
fourth. HU evened it up with a run in the sixth on a RBI triple
by Ashley McCann. Things remained tied until Marian scored two
runs in the top of the tenth and the Foresters failed to respond in
their final at-bat.
Lauren Ward (4-4) went the distance in
the loss for HU. She gave up three runs on seven hits and struck
out nine. McCann was the lone Forester with two hits in the
game.
In game two, the Knights scored in each
of the first four innings to take a 6-1 lead. HU cut the deficit
in half with a pair of runs in the fifth, but that was as close as it
would get.
Ashley Scally (0-5) took the loss for
the Foresters. She went six innings and allowed six runs on 13 hits
and two walks while striking out four. Kendra Stahl and Keri
Badenhop both had two hits to lead HU at the plate.
