04.03.08 - Huntington North High School senior Brandi Gower has chosen to continue both her softball and basketball careers as a Forester next fall.

Gower, who will look to earn her fourth varsity letter in softball with the Lady Vikings this spring, will join her sister Brittany in playing for their father, head coach Doug Gower, at HU.

As a sophomore centerfielder at HNHS, Gower hit .311, drove in 10 runs and had five stolen bases.  Last year as a junior, she recorded 29 hits in the leadoff spot and posted a .397 batting average. Her achievements on the field earned her Second Team All-North Central Conference honors.

After sitting out her senior year of basketball, Gower will also return to the hardwood as a member of Coach Lori Culler's basketball squad.  In her sophomore season for the Lady Vikes, Gower played in 22 of the team's 24 games and averaged 1.5 points per game while shooting 43% from the field.  During her junior campaign, she played in all 21 games and averaged 2.7 points and 1.1 assists as a guard.
