- Logansport High School senior sisters Molly and Kahla Long have chosen to
continue their softball
careers at Huntington University next fall.
Molly was a four-year varsity pitcher for the Berries. As a
senior, Molly was among the top three in several pitching categories
in the North Central Conference. She won 14 games and posted a
.57 ERA on the year. She also struck out 11.5 batters and
allowed just .99 walks per seven innings. Molly was a three-time
All-NCC selection and earned the honor of playing in the Indiana
North-South All-Star game.
Kahla also was a four-year varsity
letterwinner and received All-NCC honors as a junior. She will
pitch and play first for the Foresters.
Coach Doug Gower is excited by the potential the sisters bring to the
program. "I'm pleased that both Molly and Kahla chose HU. As
twins, they are very close and have a great love for softball. Both
will help with my pitching depth. I expect Molly to vault into a
starter role complimenting Lauren Ward, who is back for her senior
season. This should be a very exciting year for Huntington.
Combining an
All-Star/All-State pitcher in Molly with
several returning upperclassmen should give us the tools to compete
for the conference title and a berth in the NAIA tournament."
