01.14.06 - In their first indoor competition of the season, the Foresters hosted three other schools in the Frozen Forest Invitational and both HU squads placed second.

In men's action, the Foresters grabbed four first place finishes.  Joel Sanders was the top finisher in the 800 with a time of 1:59.  Cody Hannie won the 1600 in 4:43 and placed second in the 800 with a time of 2:05.  Nick Johnson was the winner of the 3200 with his time of 10:01.  HU's 4x342 relay earned the final win with a combined time of 3:09.  Tri-State University won the event with a team score of 87.  HU was second with 40.5 points followed by Goshen College (27) and Manchester (23.5).

On the women's side, freshman Katie Crandall made a statement in her first collegiate competition with three individual firsts.  She won the 300 with a time of 47.62, the 55 hurdles in 9:15, and the high jump with a leap of 4'10". She also was a member of HU's winning 4x342 relay that finished with a time of 3:47.  Other top finishers for the Foresters included Heidi Christner in the 55 meter dash (7.66), Brittany Fillman in the 400 (1:05), and Jill Roughia in the 1600 (5:42).  Manchester College took the women's title with 91 points followed by HU (82), Goshen (17) and Tri-State (3).
