02.10.06 - Both Forester track teams had five event champions as
the women finished second and the men third at the Ohio Northern Indoor
Track and Field Meet.
Freshman Lucas Beach continued to add to his
personal best in the shot put with his first-place toss of 51' 11.25",
over two feet longer than last week's mark of 49' 8". His new PR
also met qualifying standards to compete at the NAIA National Indoor Track
and Field Championships in March. Cody Hannie won two events at the
meet with a 1:58.85 time in the 800 and a 4:31.49 mile. Other event
winners for the men included Joel Sanders winning the 1000 with his time
of 2:33.81 and Joseph Njeri taking the 5000 in 16:22.57.
For the women, Katie
Crandall crossed first in the 55 hurdle with a time of 9.33. Vanessa
Macias turned in the best time in the 800 at 2:34.72, and Jill Roughia had
the fastest mile with her time of 5:41.35. HU's 4x200 and 4x400
relays rounded out the event winners with times of 1:57.67 and 4:25.14
respectively.
