02.18.06 - Freshman Jill Roughia ran a personal best time of 3:08.48 in the 1000 meter and met the NAIA's provisional qualifying standard to compete in the event at the National Indoor Track and Field Championships in March. She was the lone Forester to win an event at the DePauw University Indoor Classic.  Three other women earned top five finishes in their respective events with Katie Crandall placing third in the high jump with a leap of 1.47m, Lisa Isabelli taking third in the weight throw with a distance of 11.48m and Brittany Fillman finishing fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:04.90.  HU's 4x400 relay team of Roughia, Fillman, Heidi Christner and Crandall also finished fourth with their time of 4:17.01.  The Foresters placed eighth in the team standings with a score of 39.  The University of Alabama Huntsville won the event with a team score of 121.

On the men's side, Lucas Beach and Joel Sanders each picked up a first to pace the Foresters.  Beach took top honors in the shot put with his toss of 15.12m and added a third in the weight throw with a mark of 12.26m. Sanders won the 1000 with a time of 2:31.18.  Other highlights for the men included a fifth place finish by Dan Lindbloom in the mile with a time of 4:35.91 and a fifth by Cody Hannie in the 800 in 2:00.10.  The Foresters 4x400 relay team of Adam Widener, Sanders, Lindbloom and Hannie also placed fifth with their time of 3:36.56.  HU finished seventh in the team standings with a team score of 44. DePauw won their own event with a score of 140.
