02.04.06 - Sophomore Joel Sanders and freshman Lucas Beach each recorded a personal best on their way to winning their respective events at the Taylor University Indoor Track Invitational.  Sanders won the 800 meter run with his time of 1:57.02 breaking his own school record of 1:57.73 set last year.  In the shot put, Beach improved on his mark of 48' 11.5" set last week, winning the event with a throw of 49' 8".  The mark is the second-best toss on the HU record books.    Four other Foresters had top five finishes in the non-scored meet.  Cody Hannie was the second-place finisher in the mile run with his time of 4:26.59.  Nick Johnson and Joseph Njeri placed third and fourth respectively in the 3000 with their times of 9:09.62 and 9:14.64, and Adam Widner was fifth in the 1000 in 2:41.13.  HU's distance medley and 4x400 relay both placed fifth as well with times of 11:13.89 and 3:37.85 respectively.

On the women’s side, Jill Roughia had the top finish for the Foresters with her second place time of 3:10.28 in the 1000 meter run.  Katie Crandall and Vanessa Macias each recorded a fourth place finish.  Crandall had a leap of 4' 11" in the high jump and Macias ran a 5:38.73 mile.  Brittany Fillman had the other top five finish, placing fifth in the 600 meter dash with a time of 1:45.88.  The distance medley and the 4x400 relay each placed fifth with times of 14:08.21 and 4:18.69 respectively.
