03.20.06 - The Foresters opened
their outdoor season at the Charlotte 49er Classic on the campus of the
UNC-Charlotte on March 17-18. The HU squad shared the asphalt with
several larger schools including a number of NCAA Division I institutions
in the non-scored event.
Emily Sealscott turned in the most notable highlight for the women.
Sealscott finished third in the women's 3000 meter steeplechase with a
time of 11:59.41, shaving 14 seconds off her previous personal best.
Katie Crandall placed 17th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:09.68 and
Molly Andrews was 19th in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:27.81.
David St. Louis posted the Foresters' best
finish on the men's side with a fourth place in the steeplechase in
9:58.83. Lucas Beach was 15th in the hammer with his throw of 134'
5". Joel Sanders ran a 1:56.00 800 for a 12th place finish and Nick
Johnson recorded Huntington's third fastest time in the 5000 meter run
with his time of 15:30.65, which placed him 23rd in the event.
