Huntington University track teams placed fourth at Defiance College's Dick
Small Track Invitational. Bethel College swept the meet
winning the men's title with 129 points and the women's with 167.
The Forester men scored 78 points and the women tallied 96.
In men's action, Joel Sanders and Nick Johnson
each grabbed a first place finish to lead HU. Sanders won the 800
meter run with a time of 1:58.41 and Johnson ran a 32:57.53 in the 10,000
meter run for the win. Teammate Joseph Njeri placed third in the
event with his time of 33:25.95. Lucas Beach came up with two second
place finishes in the throwing events. He had a toss of 14.65 meters
in the shot put and a 42.37 meter mark in the hammer throw. David
St. Louis took second in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:14.35.
Michael Lehman came in third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of
1:04.02 and Dan Lindbloom placed third in the 3000 meter steeplechase in
10:09.59.
On the women's side, Katie Crandall dominated
the hurdle events, winning the 100 hurdles in 16.21 and the 400 hurdles in
1:08.42.
Emily Sealscott also picked up a win for the Foresters in the 3000 meter
steeplechase. She crossed two and a half minutes ahead of the second
place finisher with her time of 12:24.65. Brittany Fillman placed
second in the 400 meter race in 1:01.81. Jill Roughia ran the 1500
meter run in 5:08.73 to finish third. Lisa Isabelli placed third in
the hammer throw with her 34.33 meter mark and HU's 4x100 meter relay of
Cassie Lehman, Fillman, Heidi Christner and Crandall took third with their
time of 53.71.
