04.29.06 - The Foresters competed in the Mid-Central Conference Championships on the weekend and the men finished fifth with 69 points and the women were sixth with 93.5.  Bethel College's men and women swept the two championships.  On the men's side, Bethel scored 175.5 points to finally break Taylor's 11-year strangle hold on the title.  Indiana Wesleyan was second with 171 points followed by Taylor (160.5) Goshen (91.5), HU (69), Marian (55), St. Francis (41), Spring Arbor (28.5) and Grace (14).  In women's action, Bethel nipped the four-time defending champion Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats 159 to 155 for the title.  Taylor finished third with 117 points followed by Goshen (112.5), Marian (100), HU (93.5), Spring Arbor (32), St. Francis (26) and Grace (14).

Three women brought home first place finishes and All-Conference honors for the Foresters.  Brittany Fillman was the lone runner to break the one minute mark in the 400 with her winning time of 59.81.  Lisa Isabelli bested her previous personal record in the hammer throw by more than 12 feet to win the event with a mark of 146' 6" and Emily Sealscott nipped the runner-up in the 3000 meter steeplechase by .25 seconds with her winning time of 11:46.75. 

Two of HU's relay teams earned second place finishes.  The 4x400 team of Heidi Christner, Lauren Davenport, Fillman and Katie Crandall finished with a time of 4:01.51 and the 4x800 team of Crandall, Jill Roughia, Davenport and Fillman crossed the line in 9:37.85.  Crandall also added a third place in the high jump (1.55 m) and a fourth in the 400 hurdles (1:06.63), Isabelli was third in the javelin (103') and Christner ran a 13.14 100 to finish fourth.  Crandall and Christner also received All-Conference honors based on the number of points they each scored.  Crandall placed in six different events to earn 33.5 points and Christner also scored in six events tallying 28 points.

Dan Lindbloom was the lone individual champion for the Forester men, legging out a 9:45.69 to win the 3000 meter steeplechase.  Lucas Beach, who joined Lindbloom on the All-Conference team, added a second in the shot put (49' 6") and a third in the hammer throw (148' 8").  Joel Sanders took third in the 800 with a time of 1:53.84 and Michael Lehman finished fourth in the steeplechase (10:02.35).  HU's 4x800 relay ran to a third place finish with a time of 7:57.24.
