01.27.07 - The men and women's track teams competed in a non-scored meet at the University of Findlay on the weekend.  The competition included teams from all levels from NCAA Division I to NAIA institutions.  Highlights from the event include several top 15 finishes on the men's side and a number of top 20 finishes in the women's competition.

Topping the list for the men was an outstanding individual effort by sophomore Joel Sanders.  Sanders ran to a fifth place finish in the 1000 meter run with his time of 2:38.22. Joseph Njeri took seventh place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:28.50.  His time also met provisional NAIA qualification standards for competing in the Indoor National Championships later in March.  Luke Diehl ran a 2:03.67 800 meter race to finish 14th while Nick Johnson and Dan Lindbloom both finished 15th in the 5000 (15:54.42) and the 3000 (9:06.03) respectively.  The men's distance medley relay of Cody Hannie, Sanders, Diehl, and Lindbloom took sixth with a time of 10:50.21.

On the women's side, Katie Crandall tied for 17th in the high jump with a leap of 4-11 and Michelle Kyler was 17th in the 600 meter race with her time of 1:47.49.  Jill Roughia ran to a 20th place finish in the 1000 with a time of 3:13.59.
