02.17.07 - The Forester track teams competed at the DePauw University Invitational on Saturday, and both squads came away with a seventh place finish.

In men's action, Greenville won the Invite with a score of 109.50 followed by Alabama-Huntsville (102), Cumberland (81.50), Taylor (80), Emory (72), DePauw (51), HU (46), Manchester (40), Clayton State (28), Rhodes (22), Lindsey Wilson and Centre (21), Earlham (20), Columbus Running Company (10) and IUPUI (8).

Four individuals and one relay earned top five finishes for the Foresters.  HU had two winners on the day.  Lucas Beach took first in the shot put with a toss of 52-06.00 and Joel Sanders crossed the line first in the 1000 meter run in 2:32.27, edging teammate Cody Hannie who finished in 2:32.42.  Joseph Njeri took fourth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:34.09 and the Foresters' 4x400 relay earned a fifth place finish with a time of 3:34.61.

On the women's side, Alabama-Huntsville took the team title with a score of 140.  Greenville was second with 112 followed by Rhodes (90), Cumberland and DePauw (65), Emory (51), HU (47), Lindsey Wilson (38), Manchester (34), Taylor (30), Centre (11) and Clayton State (16).

Six Foresters posted top five finishes, including Katie Crandall who took first in the high jump with a leap of 5-00.25.  Jill Roughia took second in the 1000 meter run in the 3:12.01.  Michelle Kyler ran a 1:48.79 600 meter race to finish third.  Emily Holliday placed fourth in the 3000 meter run with her time of 11:01.15.  Brittany Fillman took fifth in the 400 meter run in 1:02.31 and Bethany McGraw finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 16-05.75.
